Past experience on the Russian market has shown a great demand for modernization of existing production facilities as well as for the construction of new ones. Having recognized that classic financial instruments in many cases are not suitable for operations in Russia, CON-IMPEX concentrated on the structuring of complex finance solutions which under the specific conditions enable a sound credit financing mainly with German banks.

The most important business project of that type was a credit barter line implemented with the regional administration of Tyumen under the lead management of Deutsche Bank AG in the nineties. The intention of that credit-barter scheme was to finance German capital goods deliveries with the export proceeds of Russian commodities (e.g., crude oil). CON-IMPEX operated as central project coordinator of this business model.
